La
Isla is Seattles and were pretty sure the whole state
of Washington's only Puerto Rican restaurant! Here youll come
to love the flavors of Puerto Rico that weve grown up with,
without actually having to go down there (although we advise going:
Sandy beaches, Caribbean oceans, warm tropical breezes-I miss it already!).
Inside our façade
of old San Juan, youll find fresh, wild caught seafood (which
by the way, has won 2 first place awards at the Ballard Seafood
Festival), vegan and vegetarian dishes, flavors you cant find
anywhere else, and you can wash them all down with what our reviewers
say, Some of the best, unique and STRONG tropical drinks in
town!
Come visit The Island
and sit on our patio in the sunshine. Grab a cool, tropical drink
with your friends and family. Enjoy our food and let the city melt
away to those warm island breezes and sandy beaches. I can see it
now...

The Festival
Del Cuatro, founded in February 2005, has had the honor to present
to you the first two Festivals dedicated to Puerto Rico's national
icon, the Cuatro. We set out to be an educational resource for the
community and its young people. Prior festivals have been organized
with lots of sweat, dedication, personal funds, and the love of
the Cuatro and our culture. We need to preserve our Puerto Rican
heritage for future generations by actively promoting the arts.
We need to develop and provide ongoing programs in the visual arts,
language, and music education. We need your help to do this. We
need volunteers to drive the different committees created to ensure
the success of this organizations goal. Help us by volunteering.
Please R.S.V.P
no latter than Wednesday , January 23 , 2008 at info@festivaldelcuatro.org
, the event address and volunteer form will be provided for the
event.
NACOPRW is a
nonprofit, nonpartisan organization seeking to promote the full
participation of Puerto Rican and other Hispanic women in the social,
economic and political life in the United States. To achieve this,
NACOPRW chapters educate women; develop leadership among Puerto
Rican women; provide role models for our youth and our community;
collaborate with other national organizations committed to equal
rights for all; and encourage the formation of chapters of NACOPRW
in Puerto Rican communities in order to foster closer ties among
them. Through the years, NACOPRW has been recognized for its involvement
in the community and its support of womens rights.

the United States. We are located in Orange County. Our goal is
to promote and preserve our Puerto Rican culture and the Spanish

Who
is PRUMA? Puerto Rican Union of Mutual Aid, Inc. was organized in
May 1937 and incorporated July 7, 1937. Our motto is to "Advance
with Progress". The Association was founded by a group of Puerto
Ricans who came from Hawaii to the East Bay and wanted to create
a benevolent organization to further their people. The purpose for
the Association is to help other Puerto Ricans in the San Francisco
Bay Area. We bring the Puerto Rican community together keeping the
culture alive through our Jíbaro music and Puerto Rican food.
We hold regular dances and raise funds for educational scholarships
and other community benefits. We are proud to have Mr. Tony Pagan
as our current President. Contact: Tony Pagan at (925) 828-3014

Meet fellow Puerto
Ricans and friends. Find out what events are planned in San Diego.
Contribute to the strength of our organization. Hear discussions
about PR culture and history (see next section below). Share in
a PR food potluck. Contribute to the flavor of our culture.
We are pleased to announce
the continuation of our activity, Fiesta Nights with the House
of Puerto Rico, based on suggestions from our members.
Fiesta Night is reminiscent
of the days where we anticipated El Viernes Social at the end
of the work week. That wonderful time where we go out with friends
and family and enjoy each other's company. That is exactly what
we're trying to do here in San Diego.
What we aim to do is
facilitate the informal coordination of monthly fiesta nights
where we can meet as a community, large or small, --singles, couples,
young and young at heart,-- and enjoy each other's company at
events or activities around town.
