On November
19, 2006, the Puerto Rican Heritage Society Will celebrate
its 10th Festival in downtown San Antonio In commemoration
of the islands discovery in 1493 by Christopher Columbus.
The organization has been hosting The biennial festival at
La Villita since 1988 as a fund raiser In support of its scholarship
awards and cultural programs.
The festival
offers a variety of entertainment, including live Music, arts
and crafts exhibits and items for sale with Puerto Rican thems,
as well as typical Puerto Rican food and other Amenities.
Great door prizes will be raffle, including a Round trip ticket
to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Food vendors
will offer a variety of popular Puerto Rican Cuisine such
as lechón asado, roast sucking pig, empanadas,
Bacalaitos and pinchos to name a few.
Craft
vendors will bring their handmade items with Puerto Rican
Themes, souvenirs and a selection of art work. Official posters
Designed and painted by a member of the Puerto Rican Heritage
Society (Lucy Llera) will be available for sale at $10.00.
