New York League of Puerto Rican Women

The New York League of Puerto Rican Women, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Puerto Rican women in their pursuit of higher education, by providing them with the financial support necessary to obtain their college degree. Guide to Career Education can help these women find the college programs in their area.

This is our mission to which we are exceedingly committed.  The proceeds of all our events go toward the funding of our College Awards Program, a most worthy cause of which we should all be extremely proud. The League’s College Awards are $1,000  each, and are granted to Puerto Rican undergraduate women selected for their academic excellence and service to the community.

By August 19, 2010, we have awarded at our Gala Dinner Dance at the Marina Del Rey in the  Bronx, a grand total of $12,000 in College Awards to 12 undergraduate Puerto Rican women.  We encourage and welcome you and those you know to join and support the League as Members, Donors, or Sponsors, and to attend our events.  Your membership, attendance at our events and financial support empower Puerto Rican women to overcome the economic obstacles that would prevent them from earning their college degree.  Discover the power to make a difference by supporting the League and making an investment in the future of Puerto Rican women.

The League is one of the few organizations in the nation whose focus is on the advancement of the Puerto Rican woman through higher education.

We hope that we can count on you to support the League’s College Awards Program, and we appreciate and thank you for your loyalty and generosity.
