Bomba Social – Celebrating 25 years

Puerto Rican Cultural Center

September 11, 2022, 2-5pm

Free & Indoor Event (masks welcome)

Come dance, play, and sing Bomba and help us cut our birthday cake. We’re celebrating 25 years of bringing Puerto Rican culture and traditions to Central Texas.

The Puerto Rican Cultural Center is the only center in Texas and the Southwest affiliated with the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture (ICP) for ongoing programming that cannot otherwise be experienced in this region. Our nonprofit promotes Puerto Rican pride through educational programs and cultural events based in folklore, history, and living traditions — dance, music, community theatre, ancestral fighting arts, and indigenous Taino heritage.

You must travel to faraway places like Chicago or New York City to enjoy another cultural center like ours!

This celebration will take place indoors at our Puerto Rican Cultural Center, 701 Tillery Street in Austin, Texas. Share the invite:

Our cultural center is still standing thanks to CARES/ARP/COVID recovery support from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the Texas Commission on the Arts, Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department, as well as the Mid-America Arts Alliance — with additional support from the NEA, and the state arts agencies of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas — and the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture.
