The Puerto Rican Association of Dallas-Fort Worth, a co-founding member of the Puerto Rican Alliance of Texas, cordially invites you and your family to join us and the Bishop Arts Theatre Center on August 19th, 2022 for a special celebration.
The Bishop Arts Theatre Center is excited to present the world premiere of CURSE OF THE PUERTO RICANS, written by Rosa Fernandez and directed by Dr. Marta Torres.
The play is about a woman named Julia Rodriguez, who sacrificed a life of her own to stay home and support her family. But when the one she loves returns into her life and asks her to run away with him to California, she struggles with her familial obligations and finds an identity of her own.
Special Treat: Puerto Rican food trucks will be onsite during selected days offering traditional culinary bites for sale.
– ‘EL Chifrijo’ Puerto Rican Fusion Food Truck will be onsite on August 13th, 19th and 26th.
– ‘Eddie Knows Best’ Puerto Rican Food Truck will be onsite on August 20th.

As part of APRDFW’s 41st anniversary celebration, there will be a guest performance by ‘Los Pleneros de la 100×35’ on August 19, 2022, @ 7 PM. Followed by a private show of ‘Curse of the Puerto Ricans’ @ 8pm. Complimentary Water, Sangria and Coquito will be offered while supplies last. Selected artwork on display is available for purchase.
