Enjoy the serenity of our tropical oasis in the outskirts of El Yunque

The concept for The Serene House originated during one of our many visits to our beloved Puerto Rico.

Having fallen in love with the northeast of the island, we wanted to share this jewel with others, and using Maribel’s 35 year experience in the hospitality industry we decided to build an intimate bed and breakfast.

So, once back in the US we got to work, took our ideas and ran with them. When we finally came across this property what sold it to us was the amount of space, beautiful views and surroundings of nature - the fact that it was somewhere where you could really relax and unwind.

This tranquility of the surroundings made The Serene House an easy name to pick for our place and this is the atmosphere we aim to evoke for our guests.

The decor and architecture of The Serene House was inspired by a variety of influences. We have seamlessly incorporated modern Mediterranean-style architecture with touches from our travels to India, creating a minimal, yet eclectic and bohemian style.

After almost a year of renovation we were able to transform the property from an old church and community center to our peaceful and intimate B&B.

The Serene House offers more than just a place to rest after a day of exploring Puerto Rico. Read a book in one of our lounge areas, take a refreshing dip in the pool, enjoy the rainforest and ocean view from the swing, or grab a mat and unwind with a rejuvenating yoga session.
