San German Puerto Rico San German is a small town located in the southwestern part of Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1570 by Juan de la Cruz and is considered one of the oldest towns in the island. The town was originally named San Germán de Auxerre, in honor of Saint Germain of Auxerre, a 5th-century bishop and missionary.
